He was the son of the late W.W. and Nora Culberson Escoe. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He was retired from Champion Paper and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Danielsville. Mr. Escoe was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Freeman Escoe; a daughter; Sarah Joyce Escoe; son, George R. Escoe; and brothers, Tom and Ed Escoe. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Mark Waldrop, Ila, and Peggy and Tommy Lord, Danielsville; daughter-in-law, Donna Escoe, Commerce; seven grandchildren and spouses, Keith and Lauren Lord, Tyson and April Lord, Brent and Summer Escoe, Kasie and David Brown, Travis Pirtle, Marisa Waldrop and Nick Waldrop; one great grandchild, Thomas Lord. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens cemetery.
