Tandy R. Fitts, one of the county's most prominent and useful citizens. While he had lived to ripe old age yet he was still active in church and Sunday School work, having served as steward in the Jones Chapel Methodist church for a number of years, as well as being Superintendent of the Bond Academy Sunday School for a long time. He was in every way a devout Christian at all to be relied upon to perform his duty and even more when his church called or he saw the need. Everybody loved "Uncle Dool" as they called him because he was always ready and willing to perform any service to mankind in his power. His judgement and counsel was sought by neighbor and friend and was always found to be sound and profitable. The church loses an efficient worker and the county a valuable citizen, whose place it will be difficult to fill. He leaves a wife, some children and grandchildren to whom we extend our sympathy. He was interred at Jones Chapel church on Wednesday among a great concourse of friends and relatives, the funeral services being conducted, by his pastor, Rev. A. M. Sprayberry.
