Born in Ila, he was the son of the late Ralph Fitzpatrick and Eva Tiller Lamb. He was employed by Gordon’s Potato Chip Company for 20 years and retired as regional manager at Cliff Weil, where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty B. Fitzpatrick, and by a grandson, Travis M. Fitzpatrick. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Dismukes Fitz-patrick; five sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Stephen Fitzpatrick, Raleigh, N.C., Mark and Roxanne Fitzpatrick, Olivia, N.C., Daniel and Denette Fitzpatrick, Dan and Joan Fowler, and Scott Fowler, all of Sanford, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Arthur Bullard, Pamela and Randy Gunter, all of Sanford, N.C.; and Susan and Ingo Brelewski, Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Robert M. Fitzpatrick, Carnesville, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Georgia, and Edward Fitzpatrick, Lebanon, Tenn.; sister, Faye F. Hobson, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, at 2 p.m. in Cool Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Ira Sutton and Donald Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, N.C. Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.
