Tribute of Respect

At a regular meeting of the County Medical Society of Dale county, the following
preamble and resolutions were had to-wit:

Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God to remove from our midst our beloved friend
and co-laborer, Alonzo W. Ford, M.D., who was once a member of the examining
board of this county, and after fulfilling all the duties thereof became one of
the most active of the Society workers; and was one of the Board of Censors.

By his death the Society has lost one of its efficient members, the Profession
an ornament, his friends and patrons an efficient, competent and sympathetic
medical advisor.

Dr. Alonzo W. Ford was born in Dalton, Ga., April 1st, 1849 and died in Newton,
Ala., Sept. 15th A.D. 1887.  Graduated in medicine in the Louisville Medical
College in 1874, and was married to Miss Sallie Morris, Dec. 20th, 1877, and to
them were born four sons, on whom we feel it is a duty to bestow our fostering
care.

Resolved 1st. That the Medical Society of Dale county extend to his family their
heartfelt sympathy in this their sad bereavement.

Resolved 2nd. That this preamble and these resolutions be spread upon the
minutes of the Society, a copy furnished to his family, the Southern Star and
the Newton Messenger, with the request that they be published.
