A native of Oglethorpe county, Mr. Gabriel was a son of the late Raleigh and Nellie tucker Gabriel and was married to Buna Brady Gabriel. He was a member and deacon of Cloud's Creek Baptist Church and was a U. W. Army veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cloud's Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Palmer and Don Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Crawford City Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Shirley Kidd, Crawford; three sons, Thomas Gabriel, Lawrenceville, Ken Gabriel, Hull, and Travis Gabriel, Crawford; three sisters, Pauline Johnson, Danielsville, Mary Belle Williams, Toccoa, and Frances Roberts, Athens; two brother, Crawford Gabriel, Crawford and Edward Gabriel, Gainesville; three half brothers, Talmadge Gabriel, Marietta, S., C, Dwayne Gabriel, Perry, and Loring, Gabriel, Carrollton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin Gabriel, Scott Gabriel, Chuck Gabriel, Tim McGarity, Lee Fortson and Russ Nix. The family will be at the residence of Harold and Shirley Kidd, Route 2, Devil Pond Road; and will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home.
