Mrs. J. D. Parks, was held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Baptist Church. Mrs. Grimes, who was 74 years of age, was one of Comer's well known and beloved women, and her death, though not unexpected, brings sorrow to her many loved ones and friends. In early childhood Mrs. Grimes joined the Baptist Church, ever remaining a loyal and consistent member whose nobility of character and faith in her Master so often and so beautifully expressed, bear testimony of her consecrated life, and her readiness when her summons came. Reverend J. J. Bennett of the Prince Avenue Baptists Church, Athens, and Rev. F. O. Lamerix, of the Abbeville, S. C. Baptist church conducted the impressive funeral services, paying beautiful tributes to the life of the deceased. Surviving Mrs. Grimes are two sons, Mr. J. H. Grimes of Raleigh, N. C., Mr. T. A. Grimes of Memphis, Tenn. four laughters, Mrs. J. D. Parks, Comer; Mrs. W. T. Moon, Abbeville, s. C.; Mrs. K. B. Woods, Americus; Mrs. F. D. Gussman, Miami, Fla. The floral offerings, and the many relatives and friends who came to pay a last tribute bespoke the love and esteem felt for the deceased.
