Rachel Fortson Haley, 70, of Danielsville, died Sunday, November 14, 2004, at 
Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston.

Born in Madison County, December 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late 
Paul and Clara Beatenbough Fortson. Mrs. Haley was a school bus driver for 15 
years and also worked at the Danielsville Post Office. She was a devoted and 
loving mother and wife who loved life with a passion, according to family 
members. Mrs. Haley was of the Holiness denomination. She was preceded in 
death by her first husband, Thomas Haley, and a sister, Evelyn Fortson Adams.

Survivors include her second husband, Doyle Phillips, Danielsville; son, 
Thomas Jerry Haley, Danielsville; daughter, Doris Miller, Danielsville; three 
grandchildren, Laurie Skelton, Jessica Miller, and Erin Brown; three great-
grandchildren, Allen and Alley Skelton and Ainsley Brown; brother and sister-
in-law, John Curtis and Blanche Fortson, Danielsville; sisters and brothers-in-
law, Rebecca and John Carson, Hartford, N.C., and Barbara and Emmett Lloyd, 
Athens.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 17, at the chapel of Pruitt 
Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Jenkins, Donald Phillips, and Ken Calloway 
officiating. Burial was in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were 
Ricky Dalton, Randy Spence, Jeff Wilks, George Gaddis, Scottie Phillips, and 
Billy Caudell.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
