Born on October 6, 1917, in Pickens County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lizzie Mae Galloway Lesley. She was owner of Harpers 5 & 10, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce and Commerce Pilot Club. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Harper. Survivors include two sons, Bob Harper, Commerce, and Sid Harper, McDonough; two sisters, Bobbie Nalley, Shelby, N.C., and Evelyn Garrett, Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Flower Fund, 1345 South Elm St., Commerce, GA 30529. Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
