W. Harvell, who lives about one mile north of here, caught fire at 3 p.m. yesterday and died at 8 o’clock last night. Charlie and Georgia, older children, aged 5 and 7, were in the filed piling and burning corn stalks, and Mell was with them, playing while they worked. The children became and Georgia, eldest of the three, went for some water. When she returned she found her little brother on fire. She poured all the water she had on him to stop the flames, but finding she could do nothing she ran for her father, who was planting near by. When he reached the scene he found his dear little Mell totally burned to a crisp. Dr. Chandler was summoned at once and did all he could for the suffering child, but all in vain. Mr. Harvell and wife have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
