Born in Madison County on October 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lettie Rice Jordan (Seigler). He was a charter member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia, N.C., where he lived for many years, and was a former employee of Akers Motor Lines. He was an active member of the Royston Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board, and was an active member of the Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club. Mr. Jordan was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Lilly Jordan; a son, Larry Jordan; and a brother, Charlie Rice Jordan. Survivors include his wife, Jane P. Jordan, Royston; a daughter, Pam Jordan, Gastonia, N.C.; step-son, Phil McGarity, Royston; and two step-granddaughters. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 2, at the Royston Baptist Church with Pastor Bryon Greene and the Rev. Blaine Phelps of Gastonia, N.C., officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Royston Baptist Church or to the Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club. Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
