Kidd, 77, of Trailcreek Estates, Athens, Ga., died Monday, May 13th. He was born in Madison County and lived most of his life in Athens. He was a son of the late William and Elle E. Vaughn Kidd. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Air Force as a mechanic for the late Ace Rickenbacker Squadron in France. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Johnny Wilson of Athens, Mrs. Bill Wallmann of Texas, Mrs. Omer Webb of Comer; three sons, Russell Kidd of Athens, Leon Kidd of Birmingham, Ala., Weldon Kidd of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Grady Cunningham of Lexington, Mrs. Willie Mae Baughn of Brevard, N. C.; ten grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Athens by the Revs. Julian Cave and J. G. Cunningham. Burial was in Fork's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Wilson, Charles Ross, Leon Wilson, Gary Hughes, Elton Ross, Gary Little.
