Betty N. Lester, 71, of Gainesville, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, at the 
Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

She was born in Colbert and had lived in Gainesville for more then 50 years. 
She was the daughter of the late Alvin William and Thelma Eberhart Nelms. Mrs. 
Lester was retired from the Gainesville City School System having worked at 
Main Street Elementary, Gainesville High School and the Central Office as a 
secretary and was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Wesley L. Lester.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Lester, Atlanta, and Nancy Wall, Oakwood; 
grandson, Charlie Wall, Oakwood; cousins, Peggy Childers and Susan Beech, both 
of Colbert; uncle, Thomas Eberhart, Colbert.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 22, at the Memorial Park 
Cemetery with Dr. Tom Smiley officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oncology Department of the Northeast 
Georgia Medical Center, in care of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center 
Foundation, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 115, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.

Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
