R. E. McKENZIE Mr. R. E. McKenzie, age 67, one of Comer's best known citizens, died at his home Tuesday night and was buried in Comer cemetery Wednesday afternoon following the Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. H. Walker, Methodist pastor, from the residence. Surviving Mr. McKenzie are two sons, Mr. Boyd McKenzie, of Florida and Mr. Russell McKenzie, U. S. Army, Washington, D. C.; one daughter Miss Fannie Sue McKenzie, Comer; one brother Mr. John McKenzie of Atlanta, and three sisters, Miss Sue McKenzie; Mrs. Mattie Stokeley, Crawford, and Mrs. Ellen Carithers, Athens. Mr. McKenzie was a native of Franklin County, but had been a resident of Comer since 1897. He the been most successful in business having conducted a furniture store and he also owned extensive farming interests. The sympathy of all their friends is extended the bereaved family.
