FUNERAL SERVICE WEDNESDAY MRS. J. B. McWHIRTER

   Mrs. Sarah Vinnie McWhirter, 84 year old long time resident of Comer, 
died last Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. J. Howard in Atlanta.
   Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, July 4th at the 
Comer Methodist Church by Rev. Henry Walker, Pastor of the Methodist 
at Porterdale, assisted by Rev. J. S. Hill, Pastor of Comer Methodist Church 
and Rev. W. S. Allison, Pastor of the Winterville Methodist Church.  
Interment was in the Comer cemetery.  Pallbearers were L. F. McConnell, 
Gerald Birchmore, W. P. Martin; W. H. Strickland, H. J. Cooper, M. A. Rowe, 
H. J. Whitehead and Frank Carithers.
   Surviving Mrs. McWhirter are three daughters, Mrs. D. G. Miller, Doraville, 
Mrs. L. J. Howard and Mrs. W. F. Schell, Atlanta; three sons, G. C. McWhirter, 
H. Hubert McWhirter and several grandchildren.
   Mrs. McWhirter, a member of the Comer Methodist church, was one of the 
most beloved women of the community.  Ever interested in church school 
and community, she gave of her time, and talents to every worth while cause.
