W. D. MEADOW PASSES FUNERAL LAST SATURDAY Funeral services were conducted last Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from Meadow Baptist Church for Mr. William D. Meadow, well known citizen of Madison County. Mr. Meadow died Thursday morning after an extended illness. He was 66 years old. Rev. William Crowe officiated at the funeral service, and burial followed in Meadow cemetery with Bridges Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were county officials: W. H. Strickland, D. G. Seagraves, J. T. Tiller, J. K. Brookshire and J. C. Barnette. An honorary escort included Judge Clarke Edwards, J. B. Culberson, N. C. Bullock, J. T. Baker, L. E. Greene, Sr., Judge J. T. Murray, H. L. Echols, R. H. Daniel, R. T. Broome, Mitchel Williams. Surviving Mr. Meadow are his wife, Mrs. Ora Lee Bruce Meadow; on daughter, Mrs. James Christy, Atlanta; a son, William T. Meadow, Danielsville; sister, Mrs. Hope Carithers, High Point, N. C.; three brothers: Carl Meadow, Danielsville; Griff Meadow, Comer and Claude Meadow, Cordele, Ga. A native of Madison County, Mr. Meadow had taken an active interest in all the affairs of his county, having served as Madison County Superior Court Clerk for a period of thirty-two years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a member of Woodman of the world and of Meadow Baptist Church, which he served as superintendent for a number of years.
