Both were 23 years old. Although there were no witnesses to the accident other than the engineer whose name could not be learned here today, it is believed Eberhart, who was driving the ill-fate automobie, mistook the train lights for that of another automobile. The car was struck broadside and dragged nearly a half mile before the train stopped. Both bodies were huried clear of the wreckage near the scene of the collision. Miss Morris and Mr. Eberhart had been in Athens and were returning home at the time of the wreck, which occured only a few yards from Miss Morris' home, at Kelly Crossing.
