J. Walker, of Summerville, a former pastor, and Rev. J. W. Eberhardt pastor of Comer Methodist Church. Interment was in Comer Cemetery with Masonic honors. Mr. Murray died at his home in Comer Saturday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. He had been in hospital for treatment, but his condition had improved and he had returned home. Mr. Murray was widely known throughout this section and numbered friends by his acquaintances to have a happy disposition, always kind and generous, he endeared himself to all who knew him. He was active in the affairs of his and community, and his passing brings deep sorrow to all his friends. The deepest sympathies go out to his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Benton Murray, Comer; a daughter, Miss Janice Murray; a son, Walter Murray, Jr., Burgaw, N.C.; sisters, Mrs. Addie Smith and Mrs. G.G. Smith, Hull; brothers: A.O. Murray, Comer; J.H. Murray, Chattanooga, Tenn.; J.B. Murray, Nashville, Tenn., and J.D. Murray, Cateechee, S.C.
