Nelms Services Set Wednesday


   Services for William Howard Nelms, Route 1, Athens will be held 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Congregational Holiness Church with 
Rev. J. H. Kesler officiating.

   Burial will be in Murray Cemetery, Bernstein Funeral Home in 
charge of arrangements.  Nephews will serve as pall-bearers.

   Mr. Nelms, 62, died at his home Monday at 11:10 a.m. after an 
illness of several months.

   He is sruvived by his wife, Mrs. Osie Sorrow Nelms; four daughters, 
Miss Lucile Nelms, Mrs. Aldine Carithers and Mrs. Edgar Myers, all 
of Athens, and Mrs. Clarence Dalton, Avondale Estates; five sons, 
J. W. Nelms, Avondale Estates, and Curtis, Lee Artis, Donald and 
Joe Nelms, all of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Emma McClain, Athens, 
and Mrs. Fred Landers, Hull; two brothers, William L. Nelms, Macon, 
and Guy Nelms, Athens, and ten grandchildren.

   He was a native of Madison County, Ga., and had lived in Clarke 
county for five years.

   The body will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the 
services.
