Born in Anderson, S.C., on August 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Wesley A. and Lottie Lecroy Norris. He retired from Equinox Mill. After his retirement he moved to Moncks Corner, S.C., where he was an avid fisherman and a fishing guide at Atkin’s Landing. He was a Mason and a member of Moncks Corner-Berkeley Lodge #269. He was Baptist and was a United States Air Force and Army veteran. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by a brother, Hoyt Norris, and two sisters, Lois King and Guynelle Bennister. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Norris, Hull; two sons, Greg and Tim Norris, both of Anderson, S.C.; three daughters, Sue Ellen Hicks and Beth Anne Griffin, both of Anderson, S.C., and Michelle Holt, Cary, N.C.; three stepsons, Richard Carey, Oconee County, and Greg Cary, California, Md., and Jimmy Lyon, Madison County; stepdaughter, Vivian Knight, Madison County; brother, Willard Norris, Anderson, S.C.; three sisters, Ruby Evans, Evelyn Deusse and Geraldine Hunter Butts, all of Anderson, S.C.; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Anderson, S.C., Tuesday, August 2, with the Rev. C.W. Hicks officiating.
