  Colbert - George A. Palmer, 77, retired farmer of Rt. 2, Colbert, died 
Sunday in a local hospital after an illness of two weeks.

  Mr. Palmer, a native of Dawson County, was a resident of Madison County for 
36 years.  He was a memeber of Moons Grove Baptist Church.

  He is survived by four daughers, Mrs. Cartee Watson, Athens, Mrs. Roy Seay, 
Hull, Mrs. Hobson Morris and Mrs. Buford Brosn, both of Colbert; six sons, J. 
L. Palmer, Cartersville, Paul Palmer, Atlanta, Leonard Palmer and W. E. 
Palmer, both of Comer, Edwin Palmer, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., and Ernest 
Palmer, Colbert.

  Two sisters, Mrs. Dave Evans, Hartwell, and Mrs. E. H. Grindle, Gainesville; 
three brothers, J. W. Plamer and Herman Palmer, both of Gainesville, and W. A. 
Palmer, Cornelia; 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren..

  Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Moons Grove Baptist Church, 
the Revs. Dan Fuller and James Brock officiating.  Burial will be in Moons 
Grove Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

  The body is at the residence of Mrs. Buford Brown in the Diamond Hill 
community.  McDorman Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gainesvile, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Palmer, Cornelia, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Herman 
Palmer, Gainesville, Ga, and the grandchildren are invited to attend the 
funeral of Mr. George A. Palmer Tuesday afternoon Jan. 23rd, 1968, at three 
(3:00) o'clock p.m. from the Moon's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Fuller 
and Rev. James Brock officiating.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  
Remains are at the home of Mrs. Buford Brown in the Diamond Hill Community of 
Madison County. Interment will be in the Moons Grove Cemetery.  McDorman 
Funeral Home.
