O.T. PATTEN DEAD Yesterday Mr. O.T. Patten, one of the county's well known citizens commited suicide. Leaving his home, he walked some distance into one of his fields where a brush pile had been thrown up, mounted this, and after setting it on fire, shot himself. Hearing the reports from his gun members of his family rushed to him but he Was burned almost beyond recognition before the body could be removed. The funeral will be conducted here this afternoon. Mr. Patten had been almost an invalid for the past year and for more than a week had been brooding over his condition and is thought that this caused him to take his life. He is survived by his widow and eight children who have the sympathy of all in their sorrows.
