Athens Banner-Herald, Aug. 14, 1967
MRS. W. O. PAYNE, wife of the late W. O. Payne, a University of Georgia 
professor, died in Roanoke, AL.
	A requiem mass will be celebrated at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens 
Tuesday at 10 a.m. with a funeral service scheduled for 2 p.m.
	Mrs. Payne is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. George Devereaux of Mt. 
Holly, NC and Mrs. A. B. Hilley of Westfield, NJ; a sister, Mrs. J. Erwin Davis 
of Albany, GA, and several grandchildren.
	Mrs. Payne, the former Margaret Elizabeth Fleming, was born in Opelika, 
AL, and moved to Athens from Augusta.  She attended Lucy Cobb Institute and the 
University of Georgia.
	Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge.
