Danielsville Monitor, 3 March 1922

      Mr. J. F. Payne a former citizen of this place, died at his home in 
Athens, last Sunday night the 19th, and was buried here the following Tuesday 
at 11 o'clock.  He has many friends and relatives in this part of the country 
and it was his request that he be brought back to the old home church.  He 
leaves a wife and five children.  He had reached the ripe old age of 78 years.
