Franklin County Citizen, October 26, 1972
Colbert--Jimmy Floyd Phillips, 24, died Saturday. Mr. Phillips was born in Madison 
County, Ga., a son of Evie Lou Royston Phillips and the late Merritt Phillips.

Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Sherry Kay Christian Phillips; one son, 
Floyd Ray Phillips of the home; one daughter, Connie Mellisa Phillips, of the 
home; four brothers, Rev. L.T. Phillips of Toccoa, Rev. Dennis Phillips of 
Graniteville, S.C., Jessie Lee Phillips of Danielsville, and William Phillips of 
Royston; four sisters, Mrs. Edward Gibson of Landis, N.C., Miss Inez Watts, Mrs. 
Murlene Crider, and Mrs. Burroughs Bennett, all of Royston.

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Colbert Holiness Church by the 
Rev. Roland Arrowood and the Rev. Hoyt Dove. Burial was in New Hope Holiness 
Church cemetery.

Pruitte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
