Sallie Gennel Poole, 76, of Comer, died Monday, November 29, 2004, at Cobb 
Health Care, Comer.

Born in Anderson, S.C., September 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late 
John B. McKinley and Sula Harris McKinley Rutledge. Mrs. Poole was retired 
from the Owens Corning Fiberglass, Anderson Plant and was a member of the 
Retired Women’s Club at Fiberglass. She was a member of North Anderson 
Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John 
B. McKinley, William T. “Fuzz” McKinley, James McKinley and Albert McKinley.

Survivors include a son, Grady Poole, Colbert; daughters, Fredda Barnette, 
Comer, Peggy Bower, and Joyce Barton, both of Anderson, S.C.; brothers, George 
Alan McKinley, North Ridge, Calif., and Harold McKinley, Anderson, S.C.; 
sisters, Frances Lanternman, Miss., Irene Boggs, Kingsport, Tenn., and Lucy 
Evans, New Ellington, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of 
McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Floyd Stansell, Jr., officiating. 
Burial will be in New Silverbrook Cemetery, Anderson, S.C.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family requests flowers be omitted and memorials may be made to Calvary 
Home for Children, 511 W. Whitner Street, Anderson, S.C. 29624.

The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.
