Funeral of Mr. W. R. Porterfield Held Tuesday

   Mr. W. R. Porterfield, after an illness of only a few days, died on Monday 
at his home in Atlanta and on Tuesday the body was brought to Comer for burial.
   Mr. Porterfiled was well known by our people, he and his family having 
lived here until they moved to Athens a few years ago, going from there to 
Atlanta.
   The funeral was held at the Methodist church tuesday at 11 o'clock, 
conducted by Rev. Jolly, the pastor and interment followed in Comer Cemetery.
   Surviving are:  the widoe, Mrs. Laura Porterfield, two sons DeWitt and 
Edward; four daughters, Misses Nellie, Naomi, Ruth and Wilma who have the 
sympathy of all their friends in their sorrows.
