J.A. ROYSTON DIES AT HOME IN ROYSTON

J. A. Royston, 89, well known citizen and a pioneer Royston resident, died at 
his home in Royston Friday night.  He had been in declining health for several 
years and seriously ill for the past week.

Mr. Royston was a son of the late W.A. Royston, for whom the town was named, 
and Mary Johnson Royston.  He was married to the former Miss Anna Meadow, who 
preceded him in death four years ago.  He was a charter member of the Royston 
Methodist church.

Survivors include one son, Col. C. A. Royston, of Sacramento, Calif., three 
daughters, Mrs. G. N. Nelms, of Royston; Mrs. John H. Latham, of Decatur, Ga., 
and Mrs. John T. Keese, of Lavonia.

Funeral services were held from the Royston Methodist Church Sunday at 3 p.m.  
The Rev. Roy Ethridge conducted the services.
