On last Tuesday lilttle Columbus went to his reward However we did not understand the Master's beckoning voice. Still, we know he has preceeded into the presence of our Lord, For this precious little darling was his own dear choice. In his home here below, there is one vacant chair, And, too, we shall miss a bright and happy smile, Words form his mouth shall o longer fill the air, For he has closed his eyes to rest in Paradise a while. We understood not the myster of such an hour, But, yet, so patiently we must endure it all; Why God did take this bud when might have mad a full rown flower Is not ours to know, but that this was the Master's call. We loved him, yes we loved him, more than any words can tell For he was a child of god; just a ray of shining light. And now that he has gone and in the presence of God shall dwell, To hope to find him there some day in the palace of delight. G. E. R. Additional Comments: Name spelled as Scarborough on tombstone.
