Danielsville Monitor, 14 Apr 1899
Miles A. Sexton, was born Nov. 22, 1956, and died March 25th, 1899; was buried 
at Jones’ Chapel.  The funeral service were conducted by the pastor of the 
deceased, Rev. F. M Cann, of Bowman, Ga. Who preached to a crowded house from 
the text: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the 
judgment.”

Brother Sexton was s consistent member and proficient officer of the church of 
Christ at Shiloh, Madison county, Ga.  He was also very faithful with his 
brothers, “earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered to the 
saints.”

Resolved 1.  That we deplore his untimely death and sorrow his bereaved family 
and friends, and offer to them our sympathy and pray our Heavenly Father to 
comfort and sustain them in this sore affliction; for in his death the church 
has lost one of her best members, the community a noble citizen, his family a 
quiet and affectionate husband and father.  Let us, therefore, “bow in humble 
submission to Him who knoweth best and doeth all things well.”

Resolved, 2.  That a page in our record be inscribed to his memory, and a copy 
of these resolutions be furnished the family and sent tot the Christian Index 
and the county papers for publication.

The text of the newspaper was such that I can not be sure of the minister's 
name.  It may have been F. McCann, rather than F. M. Cann.
