Danielsville Monitor   26 Feb 1926 
John Shields, a large land owner and farmer living in upper part of Madison 
County was buried last Tuesday, having passed away the day before.  He had 
lived to a ripe old age and had accumulated considerabe wealth.  He was well 
liked by all his friends bearing the reputation of being honest.
