ALBERT SIMS HELD AT COMER SUNDAY Mr. Albert T. Sims, life time resident of this county, died at an Athens hospital Friday afternoon after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at Comer Baptist Church by Rev. W. R. Coile Sunday afternoon and interment was in Fork cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Ms. Nina Hendricks Sims, one daughter, Miss Louise Sims; one sister, Mrs. Evie McCurdy of Comer and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sims was a member of one of the pioneer families of the county, his ancestors having settled at Paoli, one of the oldest communities in Northeast Georgia. Both of his family lines for a long period of years have been prominent and influential in affairs of their community. He was the youngest son of the late Thomas and Janie Carithers Sims, and for the past several years owned and operated a filling station at the intersection of Danielsville and Elberton highway near Athens. His death was unexpected, but he had not been well for several weeks.
