Smith Passes at His Home in Michigan Funeral Held at Paoli Last Mon. Mr. Roy L. Smith, formerly of Comer, but for a number of years a resident of Sault St. Marie, Michigan, died unexpectedly in that city last Friday. He was 46 years of age and was the son of the late Mr. Ben Smith and Mrs. Beulah Evans Smith, well known residents of this section. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. H. Hornesby, pastor of the Comer Baptist Church, last Monday afternoon at 2:30 P. N. from the Paoli Presbyterian Church with burial in the Paoli Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Paul Hammond, Wade Grant, Jr., Calvin Gordon, Grover Meadow, Ray Morris and John Crumley. Surviving Mr. Smith are: three sisters, Mrs. A. M. Hix, Mrs. Griff Meadow of Comer, and Mrs. J. C. Cook of Fort Pierce, Florida; half-sister, Mrs. Cecil Kennedy, Jasper, Florida; brothers, C. C. Smith and J. R. Smith of Comer; and Robert Earl Smith, of Tifton, Georgia. Transcriber's note: The obit failed to mention that Robert Earl Smith was Roy L.
