Fred A. Thomas, 79, of Comer, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at St. Mary’s 
Hospital, Athens.

He was a native of Oglethorpe County and had lived most of his life in Madison 
County. He was the son of the late Isham and Clela Franklin Thomas and was the 
owner and operator of Thomas Service Station in Comer. Mr. Thomas was a 
veteran, having served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Thomas, Comer; son, Daniel I. Thomas, 
Comer; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Johnny Adams, Hartwell, and 
Felisha and Bently Fitzpatrick, Comer; brother, Aubrey Thomas, Comer; 
grandchildren, John Adams, Jamie Adams and Adrienne Fitzpatrick; great-
grandchildren, Hannah Adams and Jesse Adams.

Graveside services were held Friday, June 16, at Meadow Baptist Church 
Cemetery with the Revs. Mike Sarna and Calvin Coile officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadow Baptist Church.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
