Deloney Thompson Dead On last Friday occurred the death of one of Madison Counties' sweetest ladies, Mrs. J. D. Thompson while on Wednesday morning at one o'clock she was followed on to Glory by her husband. Mrs. Thompson was Miss Emma Pittman of Jackson County where she has a large family connection, while Mr. Thompson was born and reared in Madison County. Each of them were true and devout members of the Methodist Church. He having served many years on the Board of Stewards and at all them being active in any capacity he might be called upon to advance the Christian cause with his fellowman is fact we believe no better man ever lived than Deloney Thompson and no truer woman than his good wife. Their attitude was always knows to be for the right on all matters, being public spirited and uplifting both in Church and Civic affairs. Mr. Thompson served several years as a member of Board of Trustees of Danielsville High School and was always punctual as well as serviceable in that capacity while in all affairs of life having the proper feeling for everone, being a personal examples of truth, virtue, fair mindedness and honesty. Many ad the good things that could be said about these lovely people and many are the great things they lived and stood for and the county, church and state lose two exceptionally valuable people. They are survived by five children: two boys, Messers. W. P. Thompson of Jefferson and Hope Thompson of Avondale Estates: three girls, Mesdames B. O. Hutcherson of Atlanta and DeWitt McCoy and Miss Reba Thompson of Danielsville. Mrs. Thompson was interred at the Cemetery here Saturday afternoon at three o'clock while Mr. Thompson was interred at eleven o'clock Thursday. The funeral services were in charge of Danielsville Funeral parlors managed by Alvin Baker.
