Thompson Mrs. Cornelia Thompson, wife of Mr. J. N. B. Thompson, died Saturday evening, December 31 st, at 6:30 o'clock, following an illness of ten days. Funeral services were hold at Comer Methodist Church on Sunday afteroon, Dec. 22nd, at 3:30 and interment was in the family cemetery at Paoli, with Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The three resident pastors ofo Comer, Rev. J. B. Brown, of the Baptist Church, Rev. F. A. Bailey, of the Methodist Church, and Rev. C C. Carson, Presbyterian, conducted the imperessive funeral services, and a select choir rendered the musical selections. Rev. Bailey read te 23rd Psalm, and offered prayer; Rev. Brown using as his text "The Master is come and calleth for thee", preached the impressive sermon; Rev. Carson concluded the service with words of cboutny and comfort--honoring this departed kinsman, who throughout the forty years of his acquaintance had exemplified in her life all these most beautiful traits of character; a noble, modest, tender and loving wife and mother, from whose lips no unkind word could pass-- A Christian of the highest type. Mrs. Thompson was 67 years of age and had been a resident of Madison County all of her kife.. She was before her marriage Miss Cornelia Gholston. She was a member of Comer Methodist church. Mrs. Thompson was a woman of rexceptionally fine traits of character, and her sweet and gracious manner and friendliness endeared her to all who knoew her. Surviving Mrs. Thompson are: the husband, two daughters, Mrs. F. H. Frost, of Athens, and Mrs. B. B. Littlejohn, of Columbus; three grand daughters, Mrs. Max Sessions, of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Misses Mary Allen Thompson and Cornelia Ann Frost. Pallbearers were Messers Howard Long, Frank Martin, Hoyt McCurdy, Seab Hardman, Howard Strickland, Mell McCurdy, Dupree Cox and J. L. McMurray. Honorary pallbearers were: Messers A.M. Wilkins, J. K. Gholston, B. T. Moseley, C. B. Ayers, W. C. Groves, W.A. Rowe, T. W. Hinton, D. A. Moseley, H. H. Hart, Coke Hardman, G. M. Carithers, R. E. McKenzie, W. F. Carithers, Dr. W. D. Gholston and Dr. C.
