Colbert--Arthur David Thompson, 79, Route 1, died Saturday, July 14.
   A native of Madison County, Mr. Thompson was a son of the late David and 
Sarah Patterson Thompson and the husband of the late Willie Reid Thompson.  He 
was a retired route salesmand for Mitchum Tucker Co. and was of the Baptist 
faith.
   Funeral services were to be today at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Brown's 
Funeral Home in Danielsville with the Rev. Don Fuller officiateing.  Burial 
was to be in Morris Cemetery.
   Survivors include a godson, reared in the home, Wesley Shoe, Colbert; a 
brother, Troy Thompson, Colbert; and three sisters, Jewell Faulkner and 
Louella Burroughs, Charlotte, N. C., and Mattie Burroughs, Colbert.

Additional Comments:
Arthur was born and raised in Madison Co., GA, bur lived a large part of his 
adult life in NC.  He and Willie returned to Madison Co. several years before 
their deaths.
