She had been a sufferer of heart dropsy for many years, but her condition did not become serious until Monday before her death. Miss Tolbert was born July 2, 1867, In Madison County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William A. Tolbert, prominent citizens of the County. She had been a member of Union Baptist Church for something like foty years. In her passing the church has lost one of its finest and most devoted members. She was organist for the church many years, gave willingly of her time and talent to the support of the church and to the needs of humanity. she was modest, lovable, true, faithful, untiring and unselfish and the community has lost one of its most valuable citizens. Funeral services were held from the Union Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by her pastor. Rev. R. E. Carter and assisted by Rev. Logan, of Athens. The following gentlemen acted as pall bearers: Messers G. L. and Will O'Kelley, C. D. Tolbert, Larry Williams, J. V. Jenkins and John Crawford. She is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. R. A. Sailors and Mrs. B. C. Settles, of Athens, Mrs. W. A. Tolbert, of Commerce, Mrs. Mary Edwards and MIss Lillie Tolbert, of Hull. Her death was the second in her immediate family within one week. Funeral services for her mother, Mrs. Sarah Ann Tolbert were conducted from the same church at the same hour on Sunday, Feb. 23rd. Sanders Funeral Home of Commerce had charge of arrangements.
