Sister Veal united with the Bap- tist church in early life, and was a consistent member of the same un- til the day of her death. She dis- charged her duty faithfully in all the relations of life. As wife, mo- ther, friend, she was obedient, af- fectionate, kind and sincere. She remarked to the writer and others, who visited her in her illness, that although it was her Father's will for her to linger and suffer so long before He took her hence, yet she was resigned to His will, and de- sired most of all to glorify Him in her afflictions and in her death, as she had endeavored to do in he [sic] lifetime. The writer feels that in the death of sister Veal the com- munity has lost one of its best friends, the children's kind, loving mother, the husband a devoted wife and the church at Shiloh one of its best members; but we firmly believe, from her pious walk, hes [sic] Godly conversation and her devo- tedness as a church member to the cause of Christ in life, that our loss is her eternal gain.
