Born in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Fletcher and Stella Rogers Hardman. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and was retired from Angus Manufacturing. Mrs. Wardlaw was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Albert Wardlaw; daughter, Eleanor W. Christopher; four brothers, Thom, Wallace, Aubrey and Cleo Hardman; and two sisters, Annis Sorrells and Gladys Butts. Survivors include a daughter, Manira W. Michael, Statham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Ann Wardlaw, Winston Salem, N.C., and Maurice and Sandra Wardlaw, Nicholson; sister, Gilda Crane, Greenville, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Seagraves and Dr. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial was in New Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Harmony Baptist Church. Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
