Elmer Loyd Watkins, 75, of Athens, died Saturday, December 11, 2004.

A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Fred and Pearlie Mae 
Epps Watkins. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was 
retired from the Dillard Company after 30 years and was a member of the 
Johnson Drive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Reba Lavender Watkins, Athens; 
daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jerry Smith, Flowery Branch; sister, Mae 
Dulaney, Athens; grandchildren, Stephanie and Kenneth Ledford and Jennifer 
Smith; great grandsons, Noah and Elijah Ledford; and a number of nieces and 
nephews.

Graveside services were held Monday, December 13, at Evergreen Memorial Park 
with the Rev. Fletcher Law officiating. 

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
