FUNERAL FOR MRS. M. A. WHITE HELD LAST FRIDAY

   Mrs. Martin A. White, age 84, died at her home in the Vineyards Creek 
Community last Thursday after a sudden heart attack.
   Services were held Friday, August 16, at 3:30 P. M. at Cedar Grove Baptist 
Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Rev. J. W. Parham and Rev. Sampson 
Hart conducted the funeral services.
   In addition to her husband, Mrs. Martin A. White, she is survived the 
following children:   Mr. N. C. White, Kannapolis, N.C.; Mrs. J. T. 
Porterfield, Comer, Georgia; Mrs. F. C. Christian, Comer, Georgia; Mr. Howard 
A. White, Portsmouth, Virginia; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
   Mrs. White was before her marriage the former Miss Ester Lena Dudley, a 
native of Madison County and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
   Cunningham and Pruitte had charge of funeral arrangements.
