Madison Co. marriage records show that Alfred Sartin and Emanda E. Beard were 
married on 10 Jan 1850. The Fortson Family History by John W. Boyd shows that 
Ben Ace Fortson (1859-1921) married Martha Elizabeth Sartain, born 3 Dec 1850, 
died 23 Jan 1927, and that Ben Ace Fortson was the son of Richard Easton 
Fortson and Lucy Jane Campbell of Elbert Co.The death certificate of Martha 
Elizabeth Sartain Fortson incorrectly listed her father as Alford Fortson but 
correctly showed her mother as Mandy Beard.
