MISS ANTHONY WEDS BRANSON JAMES


Cordial interest centers around the recent wedding of Miss Corrie Sue Anthony 
and Branson James of Royston which occured on Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock 
at "Woodside" the lovely country hoome of the bride's parents.  Rev. J.W.O. 
McKiblen of Norcross, brother of the bride, oficiated, assisted by Rev. M. C. 
Allen using the impressive ring ceremony.

Preceding the ceremony music was rendered by Miss Edna Jenkins of Ashburn, 
Ga.  Mrs. E.H. Gordon of Danielsville, sang "At  Downing" and "I Love You 
Truly" folowing which the wedding procession began.

Misses Lucile Anthony, sister of the bride and Nan Lee Hamby, of Clayton 
entered first.   Miss Jessie Anderson of Winterville, Ga. and Doyle Barnes 
of Royston came next.

Following them were Miss Sallie Fannie Daniel of Danielsville and Garnett 
Langford of Royston.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Harkin and preceding the groom and his best man, 
Frank James of Atlanta, was Master Franklin Burroughs, nephew of the 
bride, carrying the ring.

The bride entered at atahe left accompanied maid of honor Miss Blanche 
Hamby of Clayton.

The bride was preceded by the flower girl, little Miss Francis James.  She 
was beautiful in a creation of blond flat crepe in combination with gold.  
Her hat was a lovely model of blend silk.  She carried brides roses 
showered with valley lillies.

Following the ceremony an informal reception was held.  The brides 
book was kept by Mrs. W.E. Burroughs, of Danielsville, sister of the bride. 
The mother of the bride wore gray flat crepe embroidered in blue.  Mrs. 
James mother of the groom wore gray with real lace.

Assisting in the entertaining were: G. U. James, Mrs. J.W.O. McKibben of 
Norcross; Mrs. G.D. Adams, grandmother of the bride.

Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. James left for a bridal tour through 
the Carolinas.  After July 10th they will be at home in Royston, Ga.

Mrs. James is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Anthony, of 
Danielsville, a recent graduate of G.S.W.C., Milledgeville.

Mr. James is the son of Mrs. G. V. James of Royston, and is assistant 
cashier in the Farmers Bank.
