HARRIS The marriage of Miss Julia Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Baker of Danielsville, to Sergeant William Melvin Harris, United States Army, of Kesler Field Mississippi and Forest City, N. C., was solemnized Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. The double ring ceremony was performed by the bride's brother, the Rev. R. T. Baker of Belmont, N. C. in the presence of the family and near relatives. The vows were spoken before an altar of ferns and white gladioli. Other decorations were narcissus and ivy. Mrs. W. D. Gholston of Danielsville played Sweetest Story Ever Told, Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and Lohengrin. Liebestraum was played during the ceremony, followed by The Old Refrain. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Candles were lighted by Lewis Baker, nephew at the bride, and Dorothy Baker the bride's niece, carried the rings on a satin pillow. Miss Harris wore a dress of soldier blue and a small close fitting hat with shoulder length veil. On a bride's Bible she carried a showered spray of eucharis and white carnations. Following the ceremony the couple left for a short wedding trip. Mrs. Harris is a member of the faculty of Cool Springs High School, Forest City, N. C. She is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Baker of Danielsville. Her brothers are Rev. R. R. Baker of Belmont N. C., J. A. Baker of Danielsville, and Ch. L. Baker of Manchester N._. Sgt. Harris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Harris of Harris, N. C. His sisters are Mrs. V. E. Carter of Gaffney, S. C. and Miss Inez Harris of Lattimore, N. C. His only brother is Pfc. J. B. Harris of Fort Jackson, S. C.
