Danielsville Monitor, 7 December 1923

BARNETTE - KIDD

At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Barnette at ten o'clock 
last Sunday occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Annie Lou Barnette 
to Mr. Howard Kidd, Rev. W.M. Saye performing the ceremony.  The marriage 
was a quiet home affiar; those present were Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Barnette, 
Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Patton, Mr. and Mrs. M. U. Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. J.M.B. 
Lord, Mrs. Gldys Harwell, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Hill.  The room was neatly  
decorated with ferns and cut flowers.

After the ceremony the bride and groom attended preaching at Meadow returning 
to the bride's home where a very delicious dinner was served.  Mr. Kidd was 
reared near Comer, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Kidd; Miss Barnette was reared 
at Ila but recently moved near Comer.  Miss Barnette has a host of friends at 
Ila who wish to extend to them their hearty congratulations.  Mr. Kidd was a 
veteran of the world war, serving two years in France; after the war he 
enlisted in the Navy serving four years in Norfolk, Va.
