FELTON PARKER WED The marriage of Miss Elsie Cook of Marietta, formerly of Comer, and Mr. Felton Parker of Marietta was solemnized Thursday afternoon, December 26th at the Comer Presbyterian Church, the impressive ring ceremony being performed by Rev. R. C. Brown of Sandersville. The altar was banked with palms, cedars and hawthorne, interspersed with catheral candelabra. The nuptial music was presented by Miss Lucille Sasser, pianist, and Mr. Herbert Moon, soloist, who sang, ‘ O Promise Me.’ Mr. Henry Gerald Birchmore of Comer was best man and the usher groomsmen were Dr. Bill Dunaway of Marietta, and Mr. Price Evans of Athens. Misses Joan Rowe and Rachael McConnell lighted the candles. They were dressed in afternoon models of soft blue, and their corsages were white carnations. Mrs. Sam Hearn of Morganville, Kentucky, was matron of honor. She wore a two piece suit of aqua crepe. Her hat was a spring mode of white roses, and her corsage was of white glads. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. W. T. Cook, Sr. She wore a gray coat suit and early model spring hat of white roses, and her accessories were of black. A corsage of gardenias completed her lovely costume. After a wedding tip to savannah, Mr. and Mrs. Parker will be at home to their friends in Marietta. Preceding the wedding, Mrs. and Mrs. Gerald Birchmore entertained at a luncheon for the bridal party and out of town guests. Among those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Cook of Athens; Mrs. J. C. Shaw and sons of Dalton; Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Fuller, of Monroe; Mrs. and Mrs. Harold Loden, of Abbeville, Ala.; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Collier and Mrs. G. L. Loden of Colbert; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Long, of Carlton; Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Frost, of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Littlejohn, of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Mack Brown, of Clayton; Mrs. R. C. Brown, of Sandersville; Mrs. Ellen Stonecypher, of Westminster, S. C.; Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Alexander of Crawford; Mrs. Joe Alexander, of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Carr, of Maysville.
