B. Ayers, of Comer, to Thurmond O. deLay, of Atlanta. The impressive double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. A. E. Logan, of Athens and nuptial music was presented by Miss Lucille Sasser of Comer. The altar was banked with ferns, palms, and baskets of white gladioli. Cathedral tapers were in even branched candelabra of graduated heights. Usher groomsmen were Mr. John O. Lovette and Mr. Clyde W. Crawford, of Athens. Miss Martha Respess of Atlanta was maid of honor, and the bride's only attendant. She wore an aqua Marquisette dress which featured a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and a very full skirt. She carried a showered bouquet of pink carnations, snapdragons and blue Dutch iris. The popular bride entered with her father Mr. C. B. Ayers by whom she was given in marriage, and they were met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Mr. George Louis Keith of Atlanta. The bride chose for her wedding a white satin dress with fitted bodice, a sweetheart neckline, and long pointed sleeves and peplum of lace. The pearls adorning the bodice were those her mother used on her wedding dress. The full skirt ended is a short train and she carried a bride's showered bouquet of white rosebuds. Her only ornament was an antique gold locket which belonged to her grandmother. After the ceremony a very informal reception was held at the home of the bride's parents where lovely arrangements of white Iris and spl____ were used. Assisting in entertaining were Mrs. Emmett Ayers and Mrs. Clarence Ayers. The dining table was beautiful with a Chinese embroidery cover. As a central decoration two crystal cornucopias were filled with white carnations and snapdragons and crystal candelabra in graduated heights held burning white tapers. Mrs. H. J. Whitehead and Mrs. R. T. Eberhardt, Jr. presided at the punch bowl. Assisting in serving were the bride's cousins, Mrs. Ben Stephenson and Mrs. George Brown of Toccoa. After a short wedding trip the bride and groom will reside in Atlanta where the bride is a member of the high school faculty of Atlanta City schools, and the groom is in business.
