Bennett, uncle of the bridegroom, officiating. The announcement carries with it wide-spread interest to many sections of Georgia on account of the prominence and popularity of the young couple. They motored in Athens on Sunday and were joined there by Mr. Harris Thurmond of the lower section of the county and Miss Kathryn Bradford of Carlton, who acted as best man and bridesmaid at their wedding, which occurred at the home of Dr. J.J. Bennett. Following the ceremony, Mr., and Mrs. Bennett motored to Indian Springs, where they are spending a few days after which they will be at home at the residence of the bridegroom's parents on Washington street. The bride is beautiful, charming and accomplished and comes from a prominent famiy of Madison county. She is a 1924 graduate of Shorter College, and during the past school year has been a memeber of the faculty of Martin Institute, where she was greatly beloved. She has won many friends here, who will extend to her a gracious welcome when she returns to make her permanent home in Jefferson. Mr. Bennett is the onky son of Dr. J.C. Bennett and Mrs. Bennett. He is a grandson of the late Capt. A. T. Bennett and of Mr. Jeptha Dickson, both pioneer Georgia citizens, the latter moving to Jefferson from Franklin County, in order to educate his children in Martin Institute, at a time when this school was the only high school of any note is Northeast Georgia. J.C. Jr. is a member of the drug store of Dr. J.C. Bennett & Son, and is a young business man of exceptional talent and ability. He possesses admirable traits of character, which have won for him hundreds of friends, who await his return to attend happy congratulations.
