JULIAN L. STRICKLAND Miss Josephine Palmer of Loganville and Atlanta, second daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. H. Palmer, was married to Julian Lamar Strickland of Comer, Ga. and Atlanta at a quiet home wedding on Friday evening, August 23rd. The bride wore a light grey, two piece suit of soft wool with sheer blouse and carried a satin prayer book topped with a large purple orchid showered with stephanotis. She wore a spray of matching flowers in her hair. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Henry T. Smith of Kirkwood Methodist church. The vows were said before an improvised altar of palms graced with floor vases of white gladioli, ___ roses and clematis vine interspersed with branches of white tapers. The mantle was banked with fern and at intervals, tall white candles were places. The entire setting was reflected in a large mirror over the mantle. Master Keith Comer listed the candles. W. S. Dixon, of Cleveland, Ga., and Atlanta was best man. Miss Claudia Donahoo of Decatur, was maid of honor. She wore a dusty rose crepe trimmed in pearls, street length and carried an old-fashioned nosegay of pink rosebuds and blue delphinium. A small reception followed immediately with the bride and groom cutting the two tier cake topped with a miniature bride and groom; it graced the center of the dining table and was flanked by crystal candelabra holding white tapers. On the following day, Mrs. Julian Strickland was matron of honor where her maid of honor became the bride of Kirk Linder, of New Jersey. Later both couples left on a wedding trip. Mr. and Mrs. Strickland traveling through the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. On their return, they will make their home in Loganville where they have furnished a small garage apartment. The bridegroom will continue his work with South Eastern Stages.
