AUSTIN KESLER WED JUNE 16 IN GORDON'S CHAPEL The wedding of Miss Kathryn Seagraves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Seagraves, and Austin A. Kesler, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Kesler, took place on Sunday June 16 at four o'clock in Gordon Chapel. The Rev. J. B. Ward, pastor of the church, officiated at the impressive ring ceremony. Palms formed the background of the alter and were interspersed with candelabra holding white tapers and tall baskets of white gladioli. The nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. J. B. Ward, pianist, and Miss Katherine Hill, soloist, sang " At Dawning " and " I Love You Truly." John Kesler, of Athens, served as best man. The usher-groomsmen were Millard F. Seagraves and Billy Kesler of Hull. The candle-lighters were Wyman A. Seagraves and James E. Dillard. Little Kitty Seagraves was flower girl and was dressed in white organdy. Mrs. Millard Seagraves, sister-in-law of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a dress of white eyelet featuring a peplum. Her corsage was red roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Jeraldine Kesler, sister of the groom and Mrs. Lord Fitzpatrick. They were dressed in green and yellow eyelet with matching accessories and corsages. The Bride The bride was given in marriage by her father, A. F. Seagraves and chose for her wedding costume a two piece white eyelet dress, featuring a peplum. She wore an off-face hat and matching accessories. Her only ornament was a lavaliere set with a diamond and two pearls belonging to her mother. She carried a white satin prayer book topped with twin orchids and showered with stephonatis. Mrs. A. F. Seagraves, mother of the bride, wore a dress of black sheer with matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. R. L. Kesler, mother of the groom, wore brown and white silk with accessories to match. Her corsage was white carnations. The Reception Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for the families and wedding party. The brides book was kept by Mrs. G. L. Barber. Others serving were Mrs. Q. H. Massey, Mrs. E. E. Dillard, Mrs. J. M. Rutherford, Mrs. L. C. Seagraves and Miss Mary Jenkins. The bride's table was covered with a beautiful crocheted cover centered with a tiered and embossed wedding cake. Arrangement of zennias, dahlias and gladioli were used in the home. The couple left immediately after the reception to tour the mountains of Carolina and Tennessee. On their return they will enter the University of Georgia.
